MOBY Robotics’ approach offers substantial economic and technological benefits while advancing environmental stewardship in DSM. The modular design and automation greatly reduces operational cost as compared to traditional riser-based systems.

From an environmental perspective, MOBY’s system reduces 90-95% of sediment plumes compared to conventional DSM methods, as assessed by theoretical modeling.

Additionally, AI-driven fauna avoidance protocols aim for zero direct mortality of benthic organisms, setting a new benchmark for sustainable deep-sea mining.
